Remains of Martyr So Man Sul Buried in Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery
Remains of the late So Man Sul, deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and labor hero who was chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), were buried in the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery on the outskirts of Pyongyang.
So Man Sul devoted his all to the efforts to uphold the idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il till the last moments of his life and made a distinguished contribution to the development of the Juche-oriented overseas compatriots movement.
A burial ceremony took place at the cemetery on May 28.
Present there were Choe Yong Rim, Yang Hyong Sop and Kim Yang Gon, officials of power organs, social organizations, ministries, relevant organs for overseas compatriots and religious organizations, officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and the bereaved families and relatives of the deceased.
DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, made an eulogy.
He said that So Man Sul could earn reputation as a genuine revolutionary, ardent patriot and experienced overseas Korean activist known to the homeland and the nation and the world thanks to the trust and loving care of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un.
He stressed that the homeland and its people would always remember the noble career and immortal feats of So Man Sul who enjoys immortality under the care of Kim Jong Un.
Amid the playing of funeral music and firing of a volley the remains of the deceased were buried in his grave.
Senior officials of the party and state and bereaved families of the deceased spread earth over his remains.
Seen standing at his grave was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
Placed there were wreaths in the name of the Presidium of the DPRK SPA, the Cabinet, a friendly party, the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, social organizations, ministries, relevant organs for overseas compatriots and religious organizations and bouquets.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the deceased.
