Extravaganza "Arirang" Starts

Pyongyang, August 11, 2009 (KCNA) -- The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" for this year started at the May Day Stadium Monday.

The creating staff and performers succeeded in re-representing the extravaganza in a brief span of time; they newly created Scene I of Act III and enriched it with fresh contents more truthfully representing the great mental power and skills of the Korean people and the appearance of the country that has undergone tremendous changes.

Among the audience were servicepersons and people from all walks of life, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations here, foreign guests and overseas Koreans.

The performers made an impressive grand epic representation of Juche Korea that has risen high as a dignified sovereign power after putting an end to the history of the nation's sufferings under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and the unshakable faith and will of the army and people of the DPRK to build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation guaranteeing the eternal prosperity of the nation under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience for presenting fantastic scenery with a good combination of dynamic mass gymnastics and graceful artistry, ever-changing peculiar background scenes, stage decor and a variety of electronic displays.

"Arirang" Goes On

Pyongyang, August 16, 2010 (KCNA) -- The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, has been given at May Day Stadium in Pyongyang from August 2, drawing a large number of people.

The spectators are enraptured by spirited gymnastic movements, wonderful dances and kaleidoscopic background.

Musical pieces strong in national emotion and high in artistry, peculiar stage settings, up-to-date electric display board and laser illuminators add to the beauty of the performance.

The background stand shows such magnificent views as newly built Mansudae Street, reclaimed Taegyedo tideland, Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and new fertilizer and steel production processes.

Ri Hye Sun, a 43-year-old resident in Chongnyu-dong No. 2 in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang, told KCNA that the performance was really a masterpiece inspiring the Korean nation with a pride of having the peerlessly great men.

According to Kim Kum Ryong, a senior director of the performance, Chapter 5 "Arirang of Friendship" has been added to the performance and some parts of the performance recreated in a short span of time to show new gymnastic movements, dances and background pictures.

Die große Massensport- und Kunstschau „Arirang“ wird aufgeführt

Zum 63. Gründungstag der DVRK wird in Pyongyang die große Massensport- und Kunstschau „Arirang“, Trägerin des „Kim-Il-Sung-Preises“, aufgeführt.

Der Inhalt und die Form dieser Show werden u. a. mit bewundernswerten Ereignissen bei der Gestaltung eines starken und aufblühenden Staates geändert und ergänzt. Für diese Schau werden neueste Ton- und Beleuchtungsanlagen zum Einsatz kommen.

Diese Schau findet vom 1. August bis zum 9. September 2011 im Stadion „1. Mai“ statt.
