Statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Erected in Kanggye City
Statues of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were erected in Kanggye City, Jagang Province to honor the 67th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
An unveiling ceremony of the statues took place on October 11.
Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Jong Gak, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Pak To Chun, Kim Phyong Hae, Kwak Pom Gi, Ju Kyu Chang; Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, Ryu Yong Sop, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, servicepersons of the KPA, officials and employees of organs that rendered devoted services for the erection of the statues, members of the shock brigade, working people and youth and school children in the province.
Senior officials of the party, state and army and leading officials of the province unveiled the statues.
When unveiled, the statues of the great Generalissimos, ever-victorious banner and symbol of victory and glory of Songun Korea, shed their brilliant rays.
The crowd broke into rousing cheers of "hurrah!" and balloons soared into the sky.
A floral basket bearing the august name of Supreme Commander Marshal Kim Jong Un was laid before the statues.
Also placed before them was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet.
Hundreds of floral baskets were laid there in the names of the different party and power bodies of the province, organs, enterprises, factories, farms and KPA units of different levels in the province.
All the participants paid high tribute to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.
Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, made an unveiling speech.
The participants looked round the statues.
