Songun Politics Is Invincible Sword for Completion of Socialist Cause

For the Korean People Songun has now become their life and soul.

Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, said:

“The Songun politics of our Party is the powerful socialist political mode.”

In the days when the Songun politics has been incorporated comprehensively on a new high stage a great reality has been achieved where marvelous miracles were wrought. Korea, not large in territory, has been ever-victorious in the severe political and military confrontation with the imperialist allied forces and is going ahead by leaps and bounds towards a great prosperous powerful socialist nation even in adversity.

The Songun politics is a sword which reliably safeguards and guarantees the independent requirement and interests of the popular masses and the sovereignty and dignity of the nation against all kinds of encroaching attempts of the imperialist reactionaries.

The cause of socialism is the struggle to champion and realize the independence of the popular masses and the country and the nation.

The process is inevitably accompanied by the fierce confrontation of force with imperialist reactionaries. It is most important in achieving the ultimate victory of the cause of socialism at present to solidify the military position of the revolution into an impregnable bulwark.

The Songun politics is the mode of politics which regards the military affairs as the most important state affairs and makes it the foremost requirement to strengthen the revolutionary army to be an invincible army.

Thanks to the energetic Songun guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Il the Korean People’s Army is displaying its might as the matchless revolutionary army with a strong ideology and conviction and the military strategy and tactics conforming to the demands of modern warfare, and with powerful attack and defence means. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been converted into an impregnable fortress with entire people placed under arms and the whole country fortified.

The Songun politics is the motive power with which to prepare the strong main force of the Korean-style socialist cause by strengthening in every way the single-hearted unity of the revolutionary ranks.

The process of the development of socialism is the process in which the main force of revolution is strengthened incessantly and its role is raised, and the victory of socialism is the victory of the harmonious whole of the party, army and people centering on the leadership of revolution.

The Songun politics calls for strengthening the main force of revolution with the people’s army as the core and model.

Thanks to the Songun politics all the people are rallied rockfirm behind Kim Jong Il ideologically and morally with the People’s Army based on unity between officers and men and the combination of military and political affairs as the core.

The Songun politics is a powerful weapon of creation and transformation.

The foundation of socialism is the people and the cause of socialism is the struggle to provide the masses of the people with affluent and civilized life. To build a socialist paradise where everything thrives and the people enjoy a happy life– herein lies the aspiration and ideal of the Korean people.

The Songun politics makes it possible to vigorously push ahead with the overall socialist construction with the People’s Army as the pillar of revolution and thus to build the people’s paradise on the land of Korea.

The people carry out the ideas of the leader and the policies of the WPK unconditionally in the death-defying spirit created by the armymen, and thereby everything is created and transformed in conformity with the requirements of the Songun era. Monumental edifices are erected around the country, the whole national economy has become active and tremendous results are scored in the fields of science and culture. A revolutionary change has been brought about in the ideological and spiritual world of the people, their way of work and their cultural and emotional life, and the appearance of the country has undergone a radical change, with socialist fairylands visible across the land.

The foundations for a great prosperous powerful nation firmly built by the Korean people under the banner of Songun through fortitude are paying off profusely.

As long as there is the Songun politics, the invincible sword, the cause of socialism in Korea will be surely completed.
