Military Orchestra will participate in international Festival - N. Korea

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- The Military Band of the Korean People's Army led by Colonel Kang Il Nam left here Tuesday to participate in the first international military band festival of the Far Eastern Region to be held in Khabarovsk of Russia and visit Amur Region.

A delegation of the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing House led by Director General and Editor-in-Chief Ji Yu Gon left here on the same day to visit China. -0-

KPA Military Band Gives Its Opening Performance in Russia

The military band of the Korean People's Army performed in the first International Military Band Festival of the Far Eastern Region in Khabarovsk of Russia on May 23.
This festival brought together military bands of the DPRK and Russia and other countries in Asia-Pacific region.
The festival opened with the performance of the military band of the KPA.
The performance was enjoyed by VIPs of Khabarovsk Territory government and the administration of Khabarovsk City, those concerned of the festival and citizens from all walks of life and media persons in the territory.
The minister of Culture of the territory government in a congratulatory speech expressed the heartfelt thanks to the leadership of the DPRK for sending the military band of the KPA well known as the most famous military band.
The vice-mayor of the administration of the city expressed the conviction that the vigorous sounds of trumpets for advance by the band would resound in the whole of the Far Eastern region as it instill the spirit of advance and zeal into the people.
The band presented "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il", immortal revolutionary hymns, and wind music fully representing the militant spirit of the KPA and its invincible might with lively and pleasant melodies.
The performance was highly applauded by the audience for unimaginable excellence, vigor and high artistic skills.
