Abgesehen von Kaesong wird es ab August nun auch in Pyongyang nord-südkoreanische Joint-Venture-Industriebetriebe geben, den Anfang macht ein Textilbetrieb, der insgesamt 1800 nordkoreanische Mitarbeiter beschäftigen soll.

...An inter-Korean textile plant will begin production in Pyongyang around August, the head of the local partner of the cross-border venture said Saturday.
Kim Jung-tae, chairman of Andong Daema Spinning Co., said 34 containers carrying weaving equipment and other machinery for manufacturing textiles are to be sent by road to North Korea on Tuesday.
"The containers will be shipped by road through the Kaesong industrial complex with the assembly to take place in the North Korean capital," he said. The industrial park has acted as the center of South-North economic cooperation.
The executive said efforts are underway to open the plant on Aug. 15, the anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945).
The plant is a 50-50 cooperative effort between Andong Daema and a trading company under North Korea's National Economic Cooperation Federation. The federation is in charge of all economic cooperative efforts with South Korea.
Kim said after the construction of the plants is completed, 25 executives and engineers will stay in the North Korean capital to run the production line and train workers.
"This move promises to open a new model for cross-border economic cooperation," the businessman said.
He added the joint venture is estimated to have net assets of US$30 million, with $15 million invested by Andong in the form of cash. The North Korean side is to provide the raw materials, land and some plant facilities.
Kim said five new facilities are to be built in Pyongyang's industrial zone and some existing manufacturing facilities are to be used after refurbishment.
About 1,800 North Koreans are to be hired to make socks, towels, blankets, clothing fabrics and silk that could be shipped to South Korea.
The contract to build the plant was initially signed in November 2003, and a ceremony marking the founding of the joint company took place in late 2005."
