Great Achievements Made in 2010
Pyongyang, December 6, 2010 (KCNA) -- Juche 99 (2010) is a significant year when the invincible might of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has been fully displayed.
The year has been adorned with such great events as a historic conference of the Workers' Party of Korea, and a military parade, national meeting and national photo exhibition celebrating the 65th anniversary of the WPK.
To greet the anniversary with great achievements, the Korean people had done a great deal of work in socialist construction.
The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex in the northern part of the country has succeeded in establishing an iron making method without use of cokes and a new iron production system with lignite abundant in the country.
A modern vinalon factory has been built in the February 8 Vinalon Complex and a large-scale anthracite gasification process for fertilizer production in the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex.
The Taegyedo tideland reclamation project in the west sea has been completed to acquire farmland as large as that of a county in a flat area. The Huichon Power Station project is progressing apace and Ryesonggang Youth Power Station No. 2, Ryesonggang Power Station No. 6, Yonsan Army-Civilian Power Station and other power stations have been inaugurated.
Many establishments in machine-building, metal, power and coal industrial and railway transport sectors and locally-run factories have been put on the CNC and IT basis.
The capital city of Pyongyang has been facelifted and a lot of masterpieces as the light comedy "Echo of Mountain" have been created in the literary and art field.
The Korean people owe all the achievements to the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
