Heute ist in Korea Nationalfeiertag. Zum 67. Mal jährt sich der "Tag der Befreiung" von der japanischen Kolonialherrschaft.
Welche Bedeutung die gegenwärtige politische Führung Nordkoreas diesem Ereignis beimisst, vermag ich nicht so richtig zu beurteilen, denn die Rodong Sinmun veröffentlichte heute dazu auf Seite 5 rechts unten einen kurzen, nichts aussagenden Miniartikel (im Koreanischer Sprache), wo zu lesen ist, dass heute in der russischen Botschaft in Pyongyang der Befreiung Koreas gedacht wurde. Nordkoreanische Politiker aus der dritten Reihe nahmen an dieser Veranstaltung teil. Sonst nichts.
Andrerseits enthalten die heutigen Rodong Sinmun- und KCNA-Meldungen etliche Artikel, die einem glauben lassen, Kim Il Sung und seine Mitstreiter hätten die Befreiung Koreas alleine erreicht.
Vergleichen wir einmal dazu einen Zeitungstext zum gleichen Ereignis aus dem Jahr 1952:

In Pyongyang there was a formal meeting devoted to the seventh anniversary of Korea's liberation by the Soviet army from the Japanese oppressors.
Present in the hall were representatives of all the democratic parties and public organizations of the country, fighting men and commanders in the Korean People's Army, Chinese volunteers, partisans, workers, peasants, scientists, workers in the arts and members of the diplomatic corps. At the back of the stage were large portraits of J. V. Stalin, Kim Il Sung and Mao Tse-Tung adorned with flowers. The slogan "Hail the Seventh Anniversary of Korea's liberation by the Soviet Union" was cast in gold.
At the Presidium table sat Kim Il Sung, Pak Hon Yong, Hong Gi Dyu, Pak Den Ai, Pak Chang Ok, Tsoi Yen Gen and U.S.S.R. Ambassador to the Korean People's Democratic Republic V. N. Razuvayev. With tremendous enthusiasm the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, headed by J. V. Stalin, was elected to the honorary presidium of the meeting. Leaders of fraternal Communit and Worker's Parties were also elected to the honorary presidium.
Kim Il Sung, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Korean People's Democratic Republic and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, was warmly greeted by those present when he made a report on the seventh anniversary of Korea's liberation by the Soviet armed forces. His speech was more than once interrupted by thunderous applause in honor of the Soviet Army-liberator, in honor of unshakeable friendship of the Soviet and Korean peoples, in honor of the leader and teacher of the working peoples of the whole world, Comrade Stalin.
Kim Il Sung spoke of the firm determination of the entire Korean people to win the victory ...
