Im vorhergehenden Posting schrieb ich vom 12. Pyongyang International Film Festival.
"EUROPEAN FILMS AWARDED AT THE 10TH PYONGYANG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
If South Korea hosts a bunch of festivals such as Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), North Korea has also an international film event: the Pyongyang International Film Festival, with exactly the same acronym PIFF.
The later PIFF was successfully organised for its 10th edition from Sept 12th to 22nd in the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), commonly known as North Korea.
The festival showed more than 70 films from 30 countries in the presence of important delegations from Cambodia, China, Vietnam, Gerrmany, Slovenia, Finland, Italy and Sweden.
European films received warm welcome from the audience and took major awards.
German film Napola by Dennis Gansel took the Best Picture Prize, while French film Not here to be loved by Stéphane Brizé got the Best Director Prize. Michael Haneke’s Austrian-French production Hidden received the Best Script Prize.
The Next edition of the PIFF will be held in September 2008."
