Fußballliga in Nordkorea
#21

Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- Regional soccer matches recently took place in South Hamgyong Province of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Ri Myong Song, section chief of Hamhung Stadium, told KCNA that the regional matches were aimed to raise the public interest in soccer throughout the country and ensure balanced development of all the soccer teams.
The matches were held in the way of group round robin and then playoffs in Hamhung and Kowon of the province. 11 teams including April 25, Mangyongbong and Chilbosan had competitions in Hamhung and 10 teams including Kalmaegi and Amnokgang in Kowon.
Top standings in the Hamhung matches were taken by Chilbosan, Kwanmobong and April 25 teams and those in the Kowon matches by Kalmaegi, Amnokgang and Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex teams.
Such matches will be held in other provinces, too, according to an official of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports.

Das hatte ich vorher auch schon gesehen;

First Round of DPRK Premier Soccer League Ends

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- The first round of the premier soccer league came to an end on Tuesday after taking place at Kim Il Sung Stadium here as part of the Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize.

Hwaebul and Rimyongsu teams came first in the men's and women's events respectively in the first round.

Premier League under Way in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The premier football league is now going on in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as part of the Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize.
Taking part in the league, which began on May 20 and will run through mid-June, are more than ten men's and women's teams, including newly emerging teams. On the first-day match, the Ryongaksan Team beat the Sonbong Team 2:0, going beyond the experts' expectation.
The Hwaebul Team, too, defeated some hopeful teams.
According to an official concerned, the newly emerging teams, composed of young footballers, are almost equal to the hopefuls in techniques and tactics. The experts are of the view that those teams will take top standings in the league.
The league is held in two rounds and the top four teams in the league matches will compete in the semi-finals and finals.

Strong Disciplinary Action Taken against Sonbong Team

Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Committee for Examining Discipline in Sports Matches of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports gave the following answer to the question put by KCNA on Monday in connection with the social furor caused by unfair practice manifested in the recent sports match:
Finals was played between men's premier soccer teams for Torch Cup at Kim Il Sung Stadium on August 28 amid keen interest of service personnel and people.
However, there was an undesirable practice in the match contrary to the sound sporting spirit and morality.
The Sonbong Team was declared the winner in the finals, but it included in it a wrong player, making the referee wrongly assess the ability of the team.
This sparked off criticism not only among the players who took part in the match but among soccer fans, service personnel and people.
The committee confirmed the unfair practice of the above-said team and decided as follows according to Provision 20 of the disciplinary rules of sports games as it chilled the daily mounting sports fervor of the service personnel and people and disappointed the soccer fans:
The committee decided to deprive the Sonbong Team of the first place taken in the finals and instead declare the April 25 Team the winner in the finals.
It disqualified the Sonbong Team for its participation in all international and domestic matches to be organized by the Football Association of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for six months.
It decided to punish those teams which let wrong players play in matches and the wrong players so severely as to disqualify them for playing in games depending on the violation of discipline and gravity of unfair practice.
