Kim Jong Un Goes Round Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum on July 8.
When the Fatherland Liberation War (the Korean War) was still in its fury, President Kim Il Sung blueprinted the construction of a memorial to war victory, and when it was built, participated in its opening ceremony on August 17, 1953.
There are over 80 rooms, many revolutionary historical mementoes and exhibits at the museum.
He looked round the rooms related to the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the period of the democratic revolution, operation, branches of arms and services, victory, the Chinese People's Volunteers, international support, merited weapons, captured arms, the draft panorama dealing with the operation for liberating Taejon and other rooms.
Looking at the historical mementoes and data displayed there, he said it was a miracle of history that under the leadership of the President the Korean People's Army and people won victory by defeating armed invasion of 16 U.S.-led countries and south Korea.
He stressed that it was a victory of idea, strategy and tactic and spirit.
By their victory in the war our army and people became a heroic army and people who defeated the U.S. imperialist aggressors for the first time in the world, he noted and asked the younger generation to learn from their feats and spirit, and carry them forward successfully.
Saying that the museum is an education center to arm service personnel, working people, youth and children with the Juche idea, anti-imperialist revolutionary idea, outstanding commanding art and military strategy and tactic of the President, he gave instructions to improve management of the museum in conformity with the requirements of the new century.
He stressed the need to tap out more historical relics concerning the war and refurbish the museum since little was done to update it after its rebuilding in 1974. He entrusted the task to the KPA.
He expressed hope that officials and lecturers of the museum would carry out their duties with credit.
