Born in 1960 at Onseong, North Hamgyong Province
Graduated College of Fine Arts, of Pyongyang National University
Awarded Gold medal for 9 times From the National Art Exhibition
Studied and worked in Russia
Awarded Grand Prix in Creativity at the 11th Beijing International Art Exhibition
Known for his vivid and energetic stroke with passion and character
Presently, serving as the chief of Korean Paintings Dept. of Mansudae Creative Artists Group
JONG, CHANG MO - 효 원 정 창모
Born in Jeonju, N. Cholla Province
Graduated College of Fine Arts, Pyongyang National University and served s Prof. of the said school
Studied under Maestro Ri Sok Ho
Known for his landscapes, flowers and birds painting, using technique of “Molgol” which describes objects without outlines but only with Korean ink and colors
More than 100 of his works are appointed as the National Treasure and being kept at the National Museum of Arts
Awarded Gold Medal and get an International fame for his “Winter at Southern River” from the 5th Beijing International Art Exhibition in 2005
Pen Name, “Hyowon or Waiting for Dawn”
KIM, SANG JIK - 근 암 김 상직
Born in 1934 in North Hamgyong Province
Graduated College of Fine Arts, Pyongyang National University and served as faculty of the said school
Studied under Maestro Ri Sok Ho
Known for his excellent painting of landscapes, flowers and birds
Served as the chief of the Korean painting Production Unit under the Central Art Studio
Presently Director of the Songhwa Art Studio
Pen Name, “ Keunam or diligent rock”
SON U, YONG - 산 률 선 우영
Born in 1946 in Pyongyang
Graduated College of Fine Arts, Pyongyang National University
Studied under Chung, Jong Yeo
Awarded Gold Medal at the 8th Beijing International Art Exhibition
Known for his detailed and fine brush-stroke and mysteriously beautiful use of colors, painting landscapes, flowers, animals and works with socialistic revolutionary themes
More than 10 of his works are appointed as the National Treasure and being kept at the National Museum of Arts
Numerous solo exhibitions in abroad
Pen Name, “ Sanryool or Fountain in Mountain”
