The 50th anniversary of the Sinchon Museum was observed.

Established on March 26, Juche 47 (1958), the museum has served as a centre for anti-U.S. and class education in the DPRK.
On display at the museum are evidences proving the bestial, vicious and cruel nature of the atrocities committed by the U.S. imperialists and class enemy in Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province during the last Korean war (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) and materials about the heroic struggle of the patriotic people.
For 52 days of their occupation of Sinchon County during the war the U.S. imperialists massacred at least 35,000 patriots and innocent people or a quarter of the population of the county by the most brutal methods. They tortured civilians in a savage manner, buried them alive, hung and burned them to death and drove nails into their heads.
A meeting was held on March 26 on this occasion.

(Meldung der Nachrichtenagentur KCNA vom 27. März 2008)
Hallo dprk,

Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of visitors are visiting the Sinchon Museum in South Hwanghae Province which bears witness to the monstrous massacres committed by the U.S. imperialists during the last Korean war. The museum turned into a centre for anti-U.S. education, class education as instructed by Kim Jong Il on May 25, Juche 87 (1998).

und

Sinchon, June 28 (KCNA) -- The Military Attaches' Corps here on June 28 visited the Sinchon Museum on the occasion of the month (June 25-July 27) of joint struggle against U.S. imperialism. They looked round evidence showing how barbarously and cruelly the U.S. imperialist aggressors killed innocent civilians after occupying Sinchon during the last Korean War and an air-raid shelter of the former Sinchon County Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and a powder magazine in Wonam-ri (2006).

"... On display at the museum are evidences proving the bestial, vicious and cruel nature of the atrocities committed by the U.S. imperialists and class enemy in Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province during the last Korean war ..."

"A year ago I was in North Korea. As a part of the official program our group visited the Sinchon Museum, which documents war crimes. According to theNorth Korean guides they were committed around the city of Sinchon (South Hwanghae Province) during the occupation of UN forces which lasted fromOctober 17 to December 7 1950. The North Korans refer to 35'383 people, who were massacred by US troupes.

Recently, I read the book "Sonnim" (The guest) by Hwang Sok-yong. The book deals with the atrocities in the Sinchon region during the war. It is a novel but based on eyewitness reports.

In contradiction to the information I got in Sinchon, in the novel the crimes were committed by Koreans, communists and Christians. According to the novel US troupes were not involved in the atrocities. A platoon leaded by Lieutenant Harrison stayed two hours in Sinchon on October 17th 1950 and handed out medicaments as well as weapons (chapter 8 of the book). Until the retreat there where neither US nor South Korean troupes in Sinchon."

Strohmännern der US-Imperialisten ("the US imperialists and their stooges").
Hallo dprk,

On display in the museum are materials on the crimes committed by the US imperialist aggressors who have invaded Korea from one hundred and scores of years ago, on their atrocities in Sinchon and other areas when the KPA was carrying out a strategic temporary retreat and on their indiscriminate bombing on towns and villages and germ and chemical warfares during the Korean war and on brutal slaughter of people committed by the US imperialists and their stooges in south Korea up to now since the war.

"Pyongyang, January 18, 2000 (KCNA) -- It is necessary to intensify the struggle against the class enemies opposed to socialism in order to defend the cause of socialism and ensure its victorious advance, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. ...

There are those who are opposed to the socialist system, those
introducing the corrupt bourgeois way of life into society, taken in by the imperialists' anti-socialist propaganda, those abandoning the socialist principle for money and those divulging state secrets for money and others who try hard to undermine socialism. All of them are
the class enemies of socialism...."
